VoltEdge Game Accessories

VoltEdge Game Accessories launched an e-commerce store built largely with AI tools and wanted an outside read on how it would hold up before real customer traffic arrived. We ran a Tier 1 Foundational Digital Audit across accessibility, content, design, and performance, and delivered a prioritized report the owner could act on immediately.

Client Outcome Statement

VoltEdge went from an AI-built site with untested assumptions to a clear, prioritized list of fixes it can act on immediately, starting with removing fabricated testimonials that named competitor products and confirming a stray, unrelated contact email live on the site. This section will be updated with implementation results at the 30 and 60 day check-ins.

Case Story

A concise breakdown of the engagement from challenge to results.

Section 1

The Challenge

VoltEdge Game Accessories had just launched a drop-shipping storefront built largely with AI tools, and the owner wanted to know how it would hold up once real customers started arriving, not just how it looked on a first pass.

The ask was a scrutiny check across accessibility, concept, content, and design before the site faced real traffic at scale, with a clear picture of strengths, weaknesses, and what to fix first.

Section 2

Our Approach

We scoped a Tier 1 Foundational Audit: the homepage plus two representative interior pages, a flagship product page and a core, high-traffic collection, rather than the site's best or worst pages.

Each page went through Lighthouse and axe DevTools scans on mobile and desktop, plus a manual review of navigation, messaging, structure, mobile display, calls to action, and content quality. Findings were organized by category and ranked by effort to fix, not just severity.

Section 3

What We Found

The technical foundation was solid: strong Lighthouse accessibility scores and fast load times across the board. The content layer told a different story. Homepage testimonials praised name-brand products the store doesn't sell, a listed price didn't match the product page itself, and unedited template text was still live months after launch.

Accessibility scans added specifics Lighthouse alone missed: low text contrast and missing screen-reader landmarks on every page tested, plus a stray, unrelated contact email sitting next to the store's real support address.

Section 4

Recommendations & Next Steps

Four quick wins need no developer: pull the fabricated testimonials, proofread and fix the price mismatch, confirm and remove the stray email, and fix a duplicated homepage category tile. Four near-term items, contrast fixes, screen-reader landmarks, navigation reorganization, and product title cleanup, are scoped for a follow-on Website Modernization engagement.

Strategic Roadmap

We ran a Tier 1 Foundational Digital Audit on VoltEdge's homepage, a flagship product page, and a core collection page, testing performance and accessibility with Lighthouse and axe DevTools alongside a manual review of navigation, messaging, structure, and content quality. The audit surfaced eight prioritized recommendations split into quick wins and near-term improvements, delivered as a branded report, a short recorded walkthrough, and an engagement summary.

Results

  • Tier 1 Digital Audit report covering accessibility, content, design, and performance
  • 8 prioritized recommendations split into quick wins and near-term improvements
  • Recorded walkthrough and engagement summary delivered alongside the report
  • Lighthouse and axe DevTools scans across three representative pages

Insight

An AI-built site can look finished and still carry real risk. A structured audit catches what's easy to miss on a quick look: fabricated testimonials, a price that doesn't match itself, and accessibility gaps that don't surface until a real customer runs into them.
